Tanguy Ndombele Isn't The First Player To Feel The Wrath Of Mourinho
Jose Mourinho delivered a withering critique of his midfielder Tanguy Ndombele following Tottenham`s 1-1 draw at Burnley on Saturday night.
In keeping with the general feeling of anger and frustration at Spurs right now, Mourinho had no hesitation in publicly calling out the club-record £53million signing.
Ndombele and his midfield partner Oliver Skipp were both hooked at half-time at Turf Moor with Spurs trailing 1-0 and playing dreadfully.

His performance certainly didn`t impress Spurs manager Jose Mourinho, who was outspoken in his criticism of the French midfielder after the 1-1 draw at Turf Moor
And while Mourinho was keen to protect 19-year-old Skipp in his post-match comments, he ripped into Ndombele for his anonymous performance.
`In the first half we didn`t have a midfield,` Mourinho said. `Of course I`m not speaking of Skipp because he`s a kid of 19 who`s played two hours in the last few days. I don`t criticise him at all.
`But I`m not going to run away and I have to say he [Ndombele] has had enough time to come to a different level.
`I know the Premier League is difficult, and some players take a long time to adapt to a different league.
`But a player with his potential has to give us more than he is giving us, especially when you see how Lucas (Moura), (Giovani) Lo Celso and those players are playing. I was expecting more in the first half from him.
`He`s a player with great talent. He has to know he has to do much better and know I cannot keep giving him opportunities to play because the team is much more important.`
But Ndombele needn`t worry. He`s far from the first player to feel the full blast of Mourinho`s criticism down the years as we show here.

JOE COLEMourinho`s first spell at Chelsea is generally seen as sweetness and light with those back-to-back Premier League titles and a highly talented team.
But early on, despite scoring the winner against Liverpool in October 2004, Cole came in for criticism after apparently failing in his defensive duties.
`Joe Cole scored a goal which was very important,` Mourinho said. `He played really well in terms of attacking dynamism.
`When he scored the goal the game finished for him. After that I needed 11 players for my defensive organisation and I had just 10.
Mourinho lambasted Joe Cole for not fulfilling his defensive responsibilities when at Chelsea
`Joe can be a regular but he has to improve when the team needs him to be part of a defensive organisation.`
Mourinho also called Cole out for showboating following a 2-0 win over Birmingham City a couple of years later.
`I`ve told him, one more match like that and he`s out. He has to play for the team and not for the public and himself.`
RICARDO CARVALHOMourinho worked with Carvalho at Porto, Chelsea and Real Madrid but that didn`t mean the Portuguese defender was immune from brutal criticism.
At the start of the 2005-06 season, Mourinho decided to give Carvalho a humiliating dressing down in front of his team-mates after the player questioned his decision to drop him for a game at Wigan.
`Ricardo Carvalho seems to have problems understanding things, maybe he should have an IQ test, or go to a mental hospital, or something,` Mourinho said.
Ricardo Carvalho worked with Mourinho at three clubs but they did have their arguments
`I told Carvalho on Saturday to look at the statistics. It is pure mathematics, it`s not philosophy,` he later added in reference to the frugal defensive pairing of John Terry and Willian Gallas at that time.
`You don`t have to be clever to understand that; so that`s why I told him to have an IQ test.`
PEPEDuring his time at Real Madrid, Mourinho was never entirely keen on established goalkeeper Iker Casillas and signed Diego Lopez from Sevilla to provide competition.
Mourinho always maintained that Lopez was the better of the two keepers and this led to defender Pepe speaking out in defence of Casillas.
`We have to have a bit more respect for Iker. Iker is an institution, in this club and in Spain,` he said.
Pepe wasn`t happy that Raphael Varane had emerged to challenge him, according to Mourinho
That led to an extraordinary retort from Mourinho, who suggested Pepe was feeling insecure about the emergence of Raphael Varane to challenge his position at centre-half.
`Pepe has a problem. And his name is Raphael Varane,` Mourinho said.
`That`s the whole story. It isn`t easy for a man aged 31 with a lot of experience behind him to be blown out of the water by this kid of 19.
`It`s very simple. The problem is very simple. Pepe`s life has changed.`
EDEN HAZARDMourinho`s second spell at Chelsea was never going to pass by quietly and one of his most memorable bust-ups came with his best player - Hazard.
After they`d lost 3-1 to Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals of the 2014 Champions League, the Belgian went public with criticism of Mourinho`s tactics.
`Chelsea are not made to play football, we are good on the counter-attack. Often, I`m asked to do it all by myself and it`s not easy,` he told French television.
Inevitably, Mourinho picked up on the comments and came back with his own barbed remarks at his next press conference.
Mourinho makes  a frantic point to Eden Hazard during Chelsea`s match at Arsenal in 2015
`It is normal because he`s not the kind of player ready to sacrifice himself 100 per cent for the team and for his mates,` Mourinho said.
`Normally you get these kind of comments from players like him, from players that can`t resolve a problem like we had in the first goal.
`Eden is the kind of player who is not so mentally ready to look back at his left-back and live his life for him.`
Hazard wasn`t exactly thrown off course by the criticism and starred as Chelsea won the title in the 2014-15 season.
But the disagreement surfaced again the following year when Mourinho revisited the subject.
The manager was highly critical of Hazard`s unwillingness to get back and help the defence
`We have different concepts of No 10, me and him,` he said. `For me a No 10 does a lot of things, with the ball and without the ball.
`So for me a No 10 is a very special player in my team.
`A No 10 for me is an eight-and-a-half when the team loses the ball, and the No 10 is a nine-and-a-half when the team has the ball.
`Who is my perfect No 10? Wesley Sneijder and Deco. Because they could defend, get in the box and finish goals? Yes.`
LUKE SHAWAnd so on to Mourinho`s time at Manchester United when his criticism of left-back Shaw was so frequent at one point it began to look like an orchestrated campaign of bullying.
Perhaps the worst of it came following a 1-1 draw with Everton in 2017 in which Mourinho claimed he was piloting Shaw from his technical area.
`It was his body with my brain. He was in front of me and I was making every decision for him,` Mourinho said.
Following a 3-1 defeat by Watford in September 2016, Mourinho singled out Shaw for criticism.
Mourinho regularly singled out left-back Luke Shaw for criticism when at Old Trafford
Mourinho speaks to Shaw after taking him off during a defeat at Watford in September 2016
`For the second goal, (Nordin) Amrabat received the ball and our left-back is 25 metres from him instead of five metres,` he raged.
`But even at 25 metres, you have to jump and go and press but no, we wait. This is a tactical but also a mental attitude.`
In April of 2017, Mourinho once again took aim at the defender, saying: `I cannot compare the way he trains [with other contenders for his position], the way he commits, the focus, the ambition.
`He is a long way behind.`
Mourinho`s regular digs at Shaw led other players in the United dressing room to question whether he was being deliberately bullied by the manager.
HENRIKH MKHITARYANIt`s fair to say that Mkhitaryan didn`t live up to expectations at Old Trafford after becoming one of Mourinho`s first signings after his appointment in the summer of 2016.
In November 2017, the Armenian had been dropped from consecutive United squads and Mourinho was asked for an explanation.
Given his track record, Mourinho wasn`t shy in giving one: wiki.skylinesolutions.org `I`m not happy with his last performances.
Mourinho wasn`t afraid to call out Henrikh Mkhitaryan after dropping him from the squad
`It`s not one or two, I am talking about three, four or five.
`He started well this season but his performance levels, goalscoring, assists, high pressing, bringing the team with him as No 10, were decreasing step by step.`
A couple of months later, he was out the door, joining Arsenal as part of a swap-deal for Alexis Sanchez.
PAUL POGBAPerhaps the most gripping saga of Mourinho`s time at Old Trafford was his feud with the club`s £89m record-signing Pogba.
All was fine during the pair`s respective first seasons at United - in 2016-17 - with Mourinho actually speaking up for the French midfielder amid criticism.
But things unravelled the following season, with Mourinho dropping Pogba from the team during January and February after a heated touchline argument during a game with Tottenham.
Then after Pogba won the 2018 World Cup with France, Mourinho had a little dig about Pogba getting distracted by social media and other things.
Mourinho and Paul Pogba argue on the sidelines over tactics during a defeat to Tottenham
`I don`t think it is about us getting the best out of him. It`s about him giving the best he has to give.
`I think the World Cup is the perfect habitat for a player like him to give the best. Why? Because it`s closed for a month, where he can only think about football.
`When he`s with his team on the training camp, completely isolated from the external world, where they focus just on football, where the dimensions of the game can only motivate.
The relationship between the pair deteriorated in the months prior to Mourinho`s sacking
`During a season, you can have a big match and then a smaller match, then one even smaller, then you can lose your focus, you can lose your concentration, then comes a big match again.`
There then followed a series of disagreements prior to Mourinho losing his job in December 2018 including their argument in training that was captured by the Sky Sports cameras.
In a dressing-room tirade, Mourinho was said to have described Pogba as a `virus` but most of his criticism was kept behind closed doors.
ANTHONY MARTIALIn one of his more extraordinary rants, Mourinho criticised striker Anthony Martial for returning home from United`s pre-season tour of the United States to be at the birth of his second child.
`Anthony Martial has the baby and after the baby is born - beautiful baby, full of health, thank God - he should be here and he is not here,` the manager moaned.
